The Miura lab studies two types of RNAs- extended 3´ UTR isoforms and circRNAs. Thousands of these RNAs exist in the brains of many organisms, including humans. One focus of the group is to uncover functions for such transcripts in the nervous system. The group uses mouse and Drosophila as model organisms, and employs high-throughput sequencing and CRISPR genome editing in our research.
